Initiation Fee
When you join as an Active member of Cypress Soaring, Inc., you will pay an initiation fee of $600. This initiation fee includes your first month dues and annual membership in the Soaring Society of America.
A Junior membership, available to those between the ages of 14 to 22 years, pays an initiation fee of $300, half the price of a regular Active member.
Dues
Active and Junior members also pay monthly dues ranging from $60 to $75. The dues amount varies depending on the aircraft you are qualified to fly. There are three levels Your dues include the use of the aircraft and all flight instruction you receive from Cypress Soaring flight instructors. There are no additional charges for use of aircraft, equipment, or instruction.
Towing Fees
The only other cost you will incur is the cost of aerotows. Currently, a typical 3,000 foot aerotow costs about $95. Altogether, you could expect to spend about $180-$350 a month to fly sailplanes.
